A short time ago, we received a need from a local college. One of their students' house caught on fire and their family lost everything. We were able to get in touch with the family and hear the story first hand. We'll call this student Jane. Jane's sister, 1 year old niece, mother and grandmother all live with her. Their house caught on fire while they were in it and had no renter's insurance to cover their losses. They lost furniture, clothes, shoes... everything. The Red Cross was able to provide them with a hotel room for one night. They're currently not all living together because there is no room for all of them where they're staying. Until they find another place to live, Jane's family has some immediate needs. Below is a list of what they need. We know it's a big list, but we know we can knock this out. Every little piece counts. Let's do this!

Imagine being homeless, wanting to work, but not having the means to buy the clothing you need for your new job. One of our school counselors who works with homeless teens let us know about a young man who is trying to support himself, but needs the clothing to do so. He's got the job, now he just needs the tools! These tools come in the form of Dickies black pants. Here's what we're looking for:
- 2 pair 33x34 black Dickies men's work pants

Do you remember how magical Christmas was as a child...the anticipation as you wake, rush downstairs and see the tree aglow, stockings stuffed full, and gifts piled high under the tree? It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, well for most. Our elves at the YMCA shared with us the names of some children on Santa's "nice" list this year whose parents could use a little help stuffing their stockings. We've got their wish lists and have done all the shopping online for you. All you have to do is point and click. It's all set to automatically ship to the elves! If you're interested in spreading a little holiday cheer, click on the links below. You'll be directed to Santa's workshop (aka Amazon) where you can help share the spirit of Christmas!
Thanks for being the remedy (and Santa's little helper)!

This family has had some hard times recently. They have a seven-year-old with Cerebral Palsy who is on a feeding tube and has numerous other physical impairments. This child's father recently lost his job, and mom is working online to finish her degree. There are two other children in the family, ages one and four. Sadly, this family could really use some help in providing for their disabled daughter, among them diapers for her. Because she is prone to diaper rash, her mom prefers Luvs. We've already done the shopping for you! The link below will take you to our Wish List.

This one's kind of sad, people. Imagine not having even one pair of shoes for the cold weather that is bearing down on us. One of our school social workers shared with us there's a high school student in this exact situation. He's in dire need of some kicks, size 12W. The pair he has now is being held together by duct tape and his family doesn't have the means to buy him another pair. Because of the width, he has a difficult time finding anything in his size. If you have any new or gently used 12W shoes, let us know.
We've also picked out a pair of tennis shoes and dress shoes on our Amazon Wish List. Here's the link:

We received word from our contact at the YMCA that there's a family of 5 whose clothing is sitting in stacks in their home. The kids could really use a place to store their clothing and other life necessities besides the floor.
